Elita Bungard studied at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester and also at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London. Completing her studies, she then joined the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra and remained there for two years before taking up her current position of assistant Principal second violin with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra. In addition to her membership of the RSNO, Elita enjoys a busy freelance career, playing with, amongst others, the Goldberg Ensemble, Manchester Camerata and the Scottish Ensemble. A keen involvement with the RSNO’s education and outreach programmes has led to some unusual concerts, perhaps the most memorable being a concert performed on an oil platform in the middle of the North Sea. Contemporary music is another interest and Elita has taken part in many festivals of modern music across the United Kingdom.
